Aînée’s room is the smallest bedroom in the house at around 6.25 square metres in all. Not helping the cupboard like feel of the room were the low oddly placed windows, a weird feature previously shared with the back room.
A lucky find at the local recycling centre meant that the first stage of changing this room to something that is comfortable and practical despite the lack of space could happen.
Before-ish (I forgot to get a shot before the architraves were removed.)
Opening up the cavity to reveal the rest of the window that for some reason was set inside the wall.
Cutting away the weather boards to fit the window normally.
And the window in place.
This room is also going to have the ceiling replaced and be completely replastered so we have only added temporary architraves to keep the wind and weather out until that happens.
